What you can expect

Phuket food tour - There's a reason why Thailand's biggest island was crowned with UNESCO gastronomy status - for centuries this trading outpost has absorbed spices and techniques from far-fetched lands. This isn’t a place for Thai green curry or spicy som tum salads; that’s mainland fare.

“Highly recommended tour! Khun Gigi is a very engaged and inspiring guide. Even though all of us have visited Thailand many times throughout the years, we still learned new things about Thai cuisine and had several “aha” moments. Highly recommended tour!”

“Amazing food with an even more amazing tour guide - thank you Cat! We cannot give enough praise for this food tour. Our guide, Cat, was incredibly knowledgeable and shared a lot of great information about the food and the culture. In addition, she was very warm, kind and caring. She took great care of our group - one member of our party was not feeling well and one member is a celiac - she accommodated everyone with grace and a smile. Do not hesitate to book this tour - you will not regret it. Thank you Cat for a wonderful afternoon!”

“Discovered delicious new tastes. We met Cat at Jui Tui Shrine in Pukhet Town on a steamy Sunday afternoon. We were a small group of 8 people, all English speaking. Cat’s English was excellent as she joked with us about local customs. She has been a tour guide in Pukhet for 20 years, so she knew her subject very well and loved being asked questions about local customs and cuisine. First, She took us to the market, where we were treated to snacks prepared at a stand run by a family for close to 40 years. The food was plentiful and very tasty. We continued walking to a Michelin starred restaurant, also run by a family for many years, where we treated to another delicacy. We stopped at 3 more places, each offering amazing plates. Cat explained the symbolism behind some wedding desserts as well as a Thai version of an iced dessert. We loved learning from Cat and were delighted with the tour that introduced us to foods we probably would never have discovered on our own. Definitely recommend”

“This tour is a YES! Cat was a great host and guide with a great sense of humour and concern for everyone’s comfort. She introduced us to local dishes we would otherwise not have discovered on our own, and also informed about local history. It was a nice opportunity to meet and chat with the other participants as well. It has so far been our favourite tour on our trip to Thailand.”

“Great time experiencing the local Phuket food scene. This was a stellar experience for my wife and I! Our guide, JiJi, was friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. She knew the Phuket food scene inside out and backwards, and focussed on having us taste food that we wouldn't likely find at major restaurants and resorts. This was much appreciated. Her family stories added depth to our experience of this beautiful food in these wonderful places. We went to 5 different venues and tasted 15 different dishes: from a table in the middle of a fresh market, to a Michelin Bib Gourmand corner noodle house. The flavours were inspiring, and sometimes even surprising. After the tour was over it struck us how well curated the menu was. So very well thought out. It had the coherence of a 15 course chef's menu at a fine dining restaurant! Just when we thought we couldn't possibly eat any more, we were served a beautiful light refreshing dessert of Ohaew Phuket Jelly, Shave Ice, Lychee, Lemon Syrup. Stunning and a perfect closer. The tour was well paced, never rushed. Highly recommended.”

“Delicious and fun experience The tour was great! Gigi was an amazing host. Not only do you get to try delicious food, you get to hear the stories behind them too. My husband and I had so much fun on this tour and would highly recommend it. You can tell that the guides are very passionate about what they do. They go above and beyond to make sure you have a good time. They’re also incredibly kind and helpful, making sure we get into our taxis okay at the end of the night. Do it, you won’t regret it.”

“We learned a lot! \ We had a wonderful time. Our guide Cat was very knowledgeable and taught us, not only about the history of the food and the establishments we were eating at, but the areas and buildings as well. The food we tried was good too. Not your typical Thai food, which was refreshing! Now we have more things we can comfortably order on menus.”

“A taste of Old Phuket Town with incredible guides Guides Gigi and Tom were excellent. Endlessly helpful and informative about the history of the area, and its connection to the different flavours and ingredients used in the dishes, as well as the architecture in Phuket Old Town. The tour provides easy access to stalls and restaurants you may not have otherwise known about, and introduces you to a wide variety of flavours, delivered right to your table. Gigi was so warm and kind - always checking in that we had enough food, describing the dishes, and the very important guidance on how to eat/prepare the dish. Particular favourites were the betel leaf parcel - so full of aromatic flavours, sour, sweet, spicy, salty; spring rolls with tamarind sauce; fried morning glory with sweet pork. Can't recommend this tour highly enough! Thanks, Gigi and Tom!”

“The tour guide was punctual, very friendly, and funny. We had a lot of laughs together! He also told us a great deal about the island and its history, and it was always easy to have good conversations with him. It was wonderful to experience the local cuisine with its diverse influences, and I have to say, there wasn't a single dish I didn't enjoy. For those who don't like spicy food: don't worry! There's nothing you can't eat. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone and would definitely do it again if I ever want to visit new locations. Thank you so much! 🙏🏽☺️”

“Perfectly balanced food tasting experience with authentic and kind guide I have been on many food tours around the world and this was one of the best . The selection of places to eat was perfectly balanced to include a breadth of authentic Thai local food places from local market stalls to a more formal Tea house with delicately crafted treats. Each place with its story, whilst also soaking up the sounds , smells and sights of the streets of Phuket with the , informative and kind guide , Cat spending time to tell you all about her countries history and culture. Recommended to all foodies spending time in Phuket.”

“I went solo and unfortunately there was nobody else on the tour. With that being said, the guide was super friendly and talked to me the whole time. She explained the history and methods of all these restaurants. It was great.”
